I have a REMOTE opportunity near Irving, TX, for a Vice President of Software Engineering to join an organization that is filling a massive gap in the market by helping tradesmen operate their businesses more efficiently. They provide simple, intuitive tools for scheduling and business management, making tech accessible to companies that often aren't the most tech-savvy.

Your Role:

• Lead as a "player-coach," spending roughly 75% of your time hands-on coding and 25% managing a team of 11 engineers (and growing).

• Spearheading the development and scaling of the company’s platform, ensuring it’s built to handle growth without sacrificing security or performance.

• Build, scale, and mentor the internal and offshore engineering teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s ambitious goals.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a growth-stage startup is essential. You’ve seen what works and learned from what doesn’t, thriving in fast-paced environments.

• Technical Expertise: While Ruby on Rails experience is preferred, candidates with strong coding backgrounds in other languages are encouraged to apply. You should be able to pick up Ruby within a few months.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and SOLID principles is a must.

• Leadership Skills: You will manage a team, grow it, and ensure it performs under the pressure of tight deadlines.

• Experience in VC-backed environments is highly valued.
